A New Start for Europe? - Philippe Etienne, Ambassador of France to the United States

French Ambassador in the U.S. Philippe Étienne, serving as such since September 2019, is a former diplomatic advisor to French President Emmanuel Macron. Etienne graduated from the École normale supérieure and from the École nationale d'administration and served as a diplomat in Belgrade, Bonn, Brussels, Moscow, Bucharest, and Berlin. He is also the former President of the Agency for French Education Abroad, and was involved in the 2008 G20 Washington summit.

Étienne was made a knight of the National Order of Merit in 1994 and of the Légion d'honneur in 2003, and was promoted to the rank of officer in 2013.

He will be at the Maison Française for a talk with students about the French-American relationship. The event will be held in English.
